Is Infosys Mysore Training Difficult?

This is a very common question that comes to mind of every fresher who is going to join Infosys as 'Systems Engineer Trainee'. Even i had the same question few months back, when i was about to join Infosys. I remember that i spent so many nights searching on the google about the level of training and what not. Some of my searches were (please do not laugh :p): 'How many freshers are fired after training at Infosys ?',  'How many trainees fail to clear training?', 'How to clear Infosys training?', 'Where to go after i fail to clear Infosys Training?' etc etc. When i got the offer letter, some of my friends told me that infy training is very hard and many fail to clear it. So all these rumors really gave me pressure. And i think that this is the situation of every fresher specially who are not from computer science background.

So, Is Infosys training really that difficult?

Answer is 'NO'. Trust me guys this is the correct answer. Ignore the negativity which is spread by some people. Infosys Training only needs 'Real Dedication' and 'Hard Work' and if you have these two in you trust me you will be a high or top performer by the end of training. Everything in the world comes at the cost of some hard work. So keep this thought in mind and stay positive when you go to your training.

I think the main reason why everyone feels that it is hard is because of the passing marks required to clear the training. You have to score minimum 65% in every assessment to clear the training. And that's what make the training a bit challenging.

Now i will tell you my story and it will definitely motivate you and make you feel positive. Its a bit long story so have patience and read it because trust me it's gonna help you a lot.
P.S: 'I cleared the training with good score and emerged as HPF i.e. High Performer' but there were some twists and turns.....

I was called for training on Jan,2016. Basically it was a 'Last Semester Internship Program', in which students who are placed in Infosys are called for training during 8th semester of their college. Yes i was very lucky that i was called so early for training. Everyone said that Infosys calls late but that was not in my case.

There is a bit difference between Internship and Actual Training Program in terms of time period of training i.e. in internship the whole training gets completed in just 3 months while a normal training lasts for approx 5 months. So in my opinion pressure in internship is more because the training is done very fast, though the syllabus is same as normal training. And also if you are unable to clear the training in internship they will call you again after few months and will give you the training again.

So everything was going good for me in first 2 weeks, i was enjoying the campus and made some good friends. The FA-1 training in Python was going pretty well BUT then came the assessment day. I did decent in hands on but i flunked in objective. So i was unable to met the criteria of 65 and unfortunately i got re in Generic FA-1. It broke me up and i was really upset by the result but then i decided to do well for next all FAs. I cleared the Generic FA-2 with good marks.

And then started my Stream Training in .NET technology as i was mapped to Microsoft Track. Stream training went very well. I scored very good in both Stream FA-1 and Stream  FA-2. Also the Stream Project went excellent. So overall i cleared the stream in one go and that too with good marks. I was really very happy.

BUT from here the main story starts.

Generic FA-3 was still left to be done besides my re assessment in Generic FA-1. The date of re-assessment was near and  i was preparing for it very seriously. There was lot of pressure on me because i was working on Stream Project on one hand and on the other hand i was preparing for re-assessment also. I used to stay till 11:00 PM in the GEC for many days to manage both. So it was a bit hectic schedule for me. So finally the date of re-assessment arrived and i gave the exam. I did really well and cleared the re-assessment.

Now i almost cleared the training, only one Generic FA-3 was left and i was confident enough to clear it.So I gave the Generic FA-3 and guess what....... I lost by very few margin :( :'(
Now this destroyed me from inside because trust me guys Generic FA-3 is the easiest of all but i don't know what happened with me at that time. May be it was not my day. That was the worst moment of my training days. I got frustrated. Most of my friends cleared the complete training, but i was only able to complete Stream. So just because i had a re-assessment in Generic FA-3, i had to repeat the whole Generic again i.e. FA-1, FA-2, FA-3  all of them. Can you believe that ?? I worked so hard for last three months but it was all wasted :'( . Though i cleared FA-1 and FA-2 with really good marks it was of no use because i would have to undergo entire generic training again just because of FA-3.

So the Internship ended by May,2016 and those who cleared the Internship were called after a month for L & D sessions and were release to Production units and those who had a re-assessment were called after three months for the training. So i spent my three months in home and tried to forget the bad things that happened to me.

So i had my re-joining on August,2016. This time i came back with full boost and confidence. Again the training started but this time it was a bit different. There was good amount of time given for preparation unlike internship where everything was so fast. I again made some good friends and we studied together everything all over again and this time i was really confident. I cleared Generic FA-1, FA-2 ,FA-3 with really good grades. And finally i was able to get the overall grade above eighty percent and became High Performer. I was really satisfied with my hard work and finally i got my Black Tag after so much struggle and i got posted to Bhubaneswar DC, though it was not my preferred location but i was really happy that i finally became 'Systems Engineer' @Infosys.

So guys, that was my story which was full of ups and downs. All i want to say is that never lose hope and have trust in yourself and believe in your self because nothing is impossible. All you have to do is work hard and give your best.

Here are some few tips from my side that will help you during your training days:

  • Complete the daily assignments regularly all by yourself. You may take help of your friend but try to solve that again later all by yourself.
  • Revise the main concepts again at the end of the day before you leave the GEC. It would hardly take 10-15 minutes and this will really help you in objective questions.
  • If you have time practice all the Level-2 questions twice before the assessment because it will help you in hands on exam.
  • Try to find alternate solution for some good questions. try to solve them with different logic.
  • Help your friends who are stuck in some part of their code in assignments because it will help you a lot and you will get double practice.
  • Before assessments make sure that you have fully gone through the ILP content and solved all the exercises and objective questions by yourself.
  • Believe in your self and never lose hope.
So keep these tips in mind and for any queries related to infy training you can always ping me or ask here. So now, I would like to end my long long post with my favorite line: 'See the Best, Ignore the Rest'. For more tips on training visit: How to clear Infosys Training in first attempt.

Food Courts at Infosys Mysore Campus

Infosys Mysore Campus has lots of food court which offers wide variety of food that covers almost all the taste from North India to South India. So at present Infosys Mysore has 8 food courts which are as follows:

  • Oasis: This food court is nearest to the boys hostel and as well as girls hostel. It offers great variety of food in both North and South Indian Cuisine. Here the main vendor is Shubham Restaurant which will serve both north and south Indian food. We also have Dominos here on the first floor which has some decent discounts. Next here is Fusion Bistro which will serve the Chinese food. Next we have Metro Cool which specializes in Juices and Snacks. You will mainly have your breakfast here. You can have a great sip of tea in the morning in Hatti Kaapi (my favourite). We also have a small shopping complex here where you can buy daily needs.

  • MagnaThis food court is in the GEC-2 and is also approx 100 meters near to GEC-1. So you will have your lunch and dinner here for most of the times. The main vendors here are Pathankot, Annapurna, Metro Cool and Fusion Bistro. Annapurna was my favorite one here because their egg dishes are awesome. Here you will find lots and lots of crowd during lunch hours and also long queues.

  •  Maitri: This food court is nearest to girls hostel and this food court is famous for its Live Counters i.e. food will be made live in front of you. Live counter is in the first floor, main dishes here are dal fry (my favorite), mix butter veg, chicken tandoor etc. On the ground floor you will have Juice Junction which will serve juices and sandwiches, also there is Amul Ice cream vendor.

  • Arena: This food zone is approx 100 meters from GEC 2. The main vendors here are CCD, Hatti Kaapi and one more is there but i cant recall the name. There is an amphitheater next to it where all the DJ nights and cultural events take place.

  • Enroute: This was my favorite food court because here we have great vendors like Wok This Way which is a Chinese zone and North food here is really very good. But this food court is really far from GEC 2 so you may not want to visit it on daily basis. Actually this food court is made near to the production units and you will mainly find black tags here.

  •  Fiesta:  This food court will be the first building which you will see while entering to the Infosys Mysore Campus for the first time because it is close to Gate-2 of Infosys. We have Dominos, Polar Bear (for ice cream lovers), Wonder Chick (for chicken lovers)  and Indian Essence. Indian Essence will serve you food 24x7. You can also celebrate birthdays here.

  • Multiplex Food Zone: It is also called MFZ is short, it is close to multiplex and recreational center. Vendors are limited here.

  • Gazibo: We have CCD here and my favorite Idly Square. Guys, even if you don't like to eat idly, once try here the mini masala idly varieties and trust me you will love it. Also it is very close to both GEC 1 and GEC 2.

  • Amoeba: This food court is nearest to boys hostel but it is not operational as of now.

So these are some food courts which are there in Infosys Mysore campus. The food here is cheap and tasty. The rates start from Rs 16 to Rs 50 and with daily budget of  Rs 200 you can have tasty food. There are some options outside the campus also, Tonif, Rasooi are close to campus and you can visit them in weekends.
So that's all folks, the post has really gone long so i would like to stop here and i hope that you have got good idea of food facilities available in Infosys Mysore Campus and i am sure that you are gonna like it. Thank you so much for reading. Good bye.

How to prepare Service Agreement for Infosys Mysore Training

Service Agreement Document is one of the most important document that you need to submit when you join Infosys as Trainee. Since its a bond between you and company, the data needs to be very accurate. So follow the below mentioned steps:

  •  Firstly you need to buy a stamp paper worth 200 INR. It can be two pages with value 100 each or it can be one with 200. The total amount should be 200, that's it.
  • Now they have provided the word document in which the content of service agreement is there. Get it typed or printed on these stamp paper.
  • Suppose you have taken 2 stamp paper worth 100 each, then get the content typed on these two stamp paper and rest of the remaining content can be typed/printed on A4 size paper.
  • Make sure that in every page you have printed COMPANY, ENGINEER, and SURETY with proper space for the signatures. This needs to be printed at the bottom of every page.
  • If you don't have company signature, don't worry at all because they will sign there itself.
  • Now attach all the papers in the sequence as it was in the original document and fill the accurate data with the blue/black ball pen.
  • Now comes the most important part i.e. Notary. You can either get it notarized from your local court or you can also get it notarized from Infosys Mysore campus for cost of Approx 60 Rs.
Service Agreement will most probably be collected on the third day from the date of joining, so don't panic if you are unclear about filling some parts. You can discuss from the HRs once you reach there and get your doubts clear regarding service agreement.
